well.. again I'm surprised by these comments.. Del Piero was a fucking brilliant dribbler (and he still is) but at his prime he was absolutely unstoppable.. he could dribble through almost anyone just like Zlatan at the moment.. watch some videos just to take a glimpse of his mastery or maybe download some full matches from this era to see how easily he passed through players with his dribbling.. he had control only comparable to really godly gifted players.. too bad he lost some chunk of his flair.. but he is now having great times again but saying something like
I don't think he was SO better than now...

dude.. no disrespect but what value that comment has? you don't think? why? have you seen all matches from this era? I watched like 75-80% of Juventus matches during 2000-2004 era..
Del Piero's peak was back then and not now..

but I do agree with SP 91 being slightly over the top  maybe a bit more but.. 82?! dude.. seriously.. you remember what Del Piero zone means?! with 82 he won't even reach the wall.. honestly.. the effect of floating ball.. that's something Pirlo has as well.. but their shot power is well above the average.. just try to kick the ball lightly from 30-35 meters.. it is the style he has that makes the ball float but its speed is still high or it would never even threaten the goalie.. I'd say 87/88

oh and btw.. I've just noticed how strange the stats are! like a crossover between striker and midfielder.. shit.. when I made them I must have been drugged or stuff.. church.. gimme some time for some general update.. or does anyone wanna work on them together?

He was a tremendously elegant dribbler who could weave past people with ease. But that wasn't that before the severe knee injury and Euro 2000??
I remember two critical points when Italy were breaking. Before, he would have used his feet to go round the player, be in on goal and finish, but he went wide, and you could clearly see he wasn't as fast to accelerate or agile anymore. He then had another chance where I think he was in a similar position but again did the same thing. I know there were 2 crucial breaks where only 1 player stood between him and goal and his inability to beat them like before meant he failed to convert the chances. Following this period his style slowly appeared to change and although we saw flashes, I personally didn't see aything to warrant 95 DA + Dribble* like -maybe- before.

I know he was/is still a very good dribbler, but these dribbling stats make him better than he was post-2000. I don't think 2000-2004 was his peak for dribbling at all. I'd say pre 2000, but some may disagree.

I agree. I think it was 1997-1998 when he was in his best. And these stats fits more to that one period.

Is there anyone else who agrees?

Yeah that is most likely right, I PM'd S-J23 with some ideas for Del Piero as he requested, he has not yet responded, we should wait till once he gets back. Seeing as it his first post, I am sure if he is also convinced then he will simply change the date/era. ;)

I agree with all the stats, perhaps shot power should be lower, ´cause if he really had al the shot parameters over 90, he´d deserve the middle shooting star, witch he doesn´t. Maybe that´s the only "exagerated" stat, the rest are quite accurate... ;)

Alcho made a good point regarding his peak years. I agree he was a more complete dribbler prior to his knee injury so ive changed his era ( anyone have a more suitable pic?) and added 1v1 scoring 8-)

Any more thoughts regarding shot power?

87 would be good. 2 points higher than his 'current' stat.

i might be wrong about dribble accuracy, but i don't think he was much better than that sir on the left who as 91 i think. maybe more precise but not a better dribbler imo. about the zone and sp i gotta disagree. i like it when they go really slow the keeper flies but hasn´t got a chance (unless it's buffon which by obvious reasons it's not gonna happen) cause the ball goes in the top right corner with a crazy swerve. and i'm not talking about that special shot that can only be performed by a few, i'm saying shot+L2. maybe 82 is too low, but i can asure u won't have any trouble scoring those with delpiero. btw, can u copy his special shot?

Why is classic Del Piero rated at 91 for TW while the actual is only 83?
I wouldn't go for 83 but 91 is one point bellow playmakers like Rui Costa, known as the "maestro". Del Piero's intelegence is great, he deserves to have above average TW but to me 87 would more than enough.
And shouldn't present Del Piero TW be higher than the young one?

EDIT.

I've just noticed this is 98/99. Yes 97/98, it's his best goal record ever and Juve played CL final and won the league.

About his SP of course i also agree it must be lowered. I don't understand his SP @87, he was never a long range shooter. The "Del Piero zone" and that shot (the real one not the special curled shot wich is fake) are all about placement and swerve. Besides, his FKs didn't pack much power and i honestly don't think he had such a much more powerful shot than he has now. With his ST i think 82 would be enough, but current Del Piero is rated @83.

Don't think he's a 96 ST either, current 92 coupled with his technique is enough for me.

His passing is also exagerated just 'cause it wasn't any better than now. He was no Baggio, and even Baggio i think he's rated lower.

WFA 6 WFF 5. He managed well with is left but he isn't good enough for a 7 imo. As for WFF well... with 6 i don't think u'll ever score a goal like this one:

Attack.. could be raised. Currently he's @ 88 but he had the smell for goal then. His goal record is even more impressive if u think it's italy and he's not the CF, though he scores penaltys and FKs wich balances it. He deserves to be ahead classic Ronaldinho for this one.

Here are mine card suggestions for Del Piero:

P05: Trickster
P07: Mazing Run
S03: 1-on-1 Finish
S04: PK Taker
S05: 1-touch Play
S14: Quick Turn
S15: Marseille Roulette
S18: Cross Over Turn
S19: Quick Scissor Dribble
S20: Scooping

Any thoughts about the cards (or about anything else in his stats)?

Yeah I agree with those Cards.

I think P1rha was right about passing considering the ladders id go for SPA 87 I already lowered Teamwork to 86
I'd give him a slight change in his speed to Top Speed: 78 Acc: 84 on par with Zola

Id probably rate him at Shot Power 85 Shot technique 93-95

Id like to here Oriello's thoughts he gave to S-J23 on him also.

Yes, current SP and ST seems a bit over the top. I can go with your suggestions for TS, ACC and SPA.

Shall I update or would you like to have the honour?
