I know we are not supposed to judge on just a few games, but Bale really hasn't shown his pre-injury speed after his injury. He has become physically stronger, but also a bit slower.

Is reading of theg mae isn't that bad what would be wrong of giving him a Response of 80/81?

He is still young. And I tend to have a slightly different scale for under 21 players. IMO a value of 81/82 is pretty elite for a player that young. IMO there are only a few stats that I rate a bit lower with age. Generally Res, Ment, TW. I'm sure others will disagree. But players this young genreally haven't shown enough to warrent higher values in these catagories. Obvious a 20 yr old Gatusso would be another story :P

I think he should be in the 78-80 range for response. Also, I suggest holding off on decreasing any physical stats untill he has a chance to re-gain his form after injury 8-)

The thing about his injury is that during those 8 months out or however long it was, he has been working out A LOT, meaning that he has become stronger, but also lost some pace. If you look at pictures or games pre-injury and post-injury you will see a massive change in his physical appearance.

Well regardless of his age he reads the game quite well and I don't think an 80 is unfair for response.

If you saw the play leading up the the PK in the FA cup, you would not question his speed. Infact I think his DS could possibly be higher. He was blazing through the middle of the field on the ball. A run that lead to the foul in the box.

Agreed. His speeds seems to be coming back. I agree on raising DS, but not TS or ACC though.

I agree with that. His TS & ACC look fine.

I think Spurs need to sell him really. He's played 22 games for the club and they haven't won a single one of them!

Not quite the future superstar we had initially hoped for and struggling to make the transition from promising youngster to established first-teamer at the moment, but technically very gifted, quick and still very promising. It's all about his brain at the moment, he's not yet too clued up on positioning and makes some bad choices, but that's to be expected from a young player. If he irons those problems out he'll be one of the best full-backs in the Premiership in about 3 seasons time. However, it's key that he is allowed to develop as a left-back where he looks at his best rather than as a surrogate left winger where he is far less convincing.

Tottenham Hotspur secured the signature Gareth Bale, one of the hottest prospects in British football, when they secured a four deal with Southampton's teenage sensation in May 2007.
The promising left-back enjoyed a superb start to his Spurs career with goals against Fulham, Arsenal and Middlesbrough. But an injured foot would ruin his debut campaign and limit him to just 12 appearances in the 2007/08 season.

A left-back with a gift for free-kicks and a flair for attacking, Bale made his Southampton first team debut at the tender age of 16 years and 275 days in a Championship game against Millwall on April 17 2006.

His second season as a first-teamer at Saints saw him linked with many Premiership clubs, with Manchester United said to be leading the chase. In the end, Bale opted to head for Spurs, where competition for a left-back place was perhaps not so rife.

Bale's future as a Saints player looked to be linked to promotion success but his absence from the second leg of the play-off semi-final through injury may well have cost his club.

They were able to profit through the sale of Bale, who cost Spurs an initial £5m rising to possible £10m depending on appearances and Spurs' success.

He made 45 appearances for Southampton, scoring five goals.

Bale is already Wales' youngest ever international, playing for them against Trinidad and Tobago at just 16 years and 315 days to break Lewin Nyatanga's three-month old record. And he's also his country's youngest ever scorer, having scored against Slovakia on 7 October 2006 with a trademark free-kick.

*Piece of Trivia, in my game I actually face scanned a picture of a chimp for realism.

They look good enough to me Paddy but is he this bad in all aspects of defensive work?

Alf Ramsey: "I'll be watching you for the first 45 minutes and if you don't work harder I'll pull you off at halftime."
Rodney Marsh: "Crikey Alf, at Manchester City all we get is an orange and a cup of tea."

Yep he's almost as bad as Rafael is defensively.

Playboy, this isn't how things work around here, you don't just post stats for no reason, the only time you should ever post a full set of stats is if the stats are horribly wrong, no-one else has done a reasonable update and even then they have to come with explanations.

"I guarantee fourth place" - Rafael Benitez.

stats from 1st post hold no water anymore, Paddy posted some nice stats, and I posted my view where I think he might be wrong.

I don't say anyone to accept my stats, but from 3 whole stats now posted, we can make final agreement more easier imo.
